NORTH MIDLANDS SOCIETY OF RUGBY FOOTBALL REFEREES
interested in refereeing - take a look at this short RFU video GET INVOLVED IN REFEREEING

IMPORTANT - ENTERING FIXTURES:
PLEASE NOTE that if you enter a fixture 7 days or less before it is due then you MUST TELEPHONE the appropriate Appointments Officer (see contact us) to let them know that it had been added. This is because provisional appointments will already have been made. Failure to telephone may mean that no referee can be appointed. The system keeps a record, visible to the Appointments Officers, of when a game was added. Preference will be given to clubs who enter fixtures in good time and the Society reserve the right to refuse to cover late entries. Please help us to help you by following the rules.

NEWS: Grading Report
On Tuesday evening the Grading Committee talked long into the night as each referee was reviewed and grades for the coming period determined.

Seventeen referees had their grades adjusted, 4 referees have transferred in from other societies, 5 new members were assigned an initial grade, and 3 were not.

Those three and another 9 members have been referred to appointments to try for stretching games with a watcher so that we have more evidence come the February meeting.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Where have all the games gone?
The problem of not enough referees which we had earlier in the season has eased for Saturdays. It has been replaced by a new one:.

Not enough games to go around.

From a dearth of referees earlier in the season Mike now has enough referees to fill most matches on Saturdays, with a good number of referees spare after the initial appointment on Sunday night.

If you are not appointed on Sunday evening stay available as we are still getting late games come on the web site and the inevitable cry offs. You may well get a game later in the week. Rest assured that Mike is trying to allocate the games as fairly as he can.

Peter is still short on Sundays so any help you can give there is greatly appreciated.

Paul Rogers says that Wednesdays will be busy over the next few weeks, so again, any hep will be appreciated.

Once again if you feel that you are missing out on games speak to the appointments officers to make sure that you have not been forgotten

ADVISERS CORNER: Wots Occurrin
My wife has become a devoted Gavin and Stacey fan and is always amused by Ness’s habitual greeting of “Wots occurrin”? It strikes me that in refereeing if we can solve the problem of “wots occurrin”, we have cracked it.

Of course, if we can let everyone else know what we think is going on, ....    more >>
